Bio
After graduating with honors and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa from college in 1982, Shari attended Union University, Albany Law School, where she earned the Gabrielli Best Brief Award before graduating with her Jurist Doctorate in 1985, and admission to the New York State Bar in January, 1986. For over thirty years and thereafter, she has practiced law in New York with a concentration in matrimonial and family law.
Shari assisted in the preparation of, and was acknowledged by the author of, the four volume treatise, "New York Matrimonial Law and Practice", by Timothy Tippins, Esq.
In addition to her matrimonial trial work, Shari also has an extensive background in criminal defense trials as a former Senior Staff Trial Counsel with the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society, Bronx County. She has been a member of the First Judicial Department felony panel for over two decades and continues to serve in that capacity. She also serves on the felony and misdemeanor panels in Westchester County.
Shari is a second term Vice President of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York since 2021 and was Co-Chair of the Health Law and Reproductive Rights for the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York from 2017-21. She is also an Elected Director for the Westchester Women's Bar Association.
Shari hosts the radio program "First Friday" on WVOX 1460 AM focusing on current legal issues featuring prominent legal figures including judges, elected officials, prominent lawyers and authors.
