Immigrant Students: Their Legal Rights, Challenges, and Needs in Public Schools.

A Primer for Attorneys, Practitioners, and Interested Community Members.


This panel program will provide an overview of the rights of immigrant students in the 
public schools and their challenges and needs in obtaining a public school education.

1 Credit in Diversity, Inclusion & Elimination of Bias, and 1 CLE Credit in Professional Practice
Attendees must complete and return an Attorney Affirmation for CLE credit.

*Pending approval by WBASNY in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for 1 credit in Diversity, Inclusion & Elimination of Bias and .5 credit in Professional Practice as specified, acceptable for transitional credit for established and newly admitted attorneys.  The Westchester Woman’s Bar Association is a chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.  Full and partial scholarships for this program, based on financial needs, are available.  Full scholarship for the $10 CLE certificate charge (maximum of 10 attendees) for this program are available for attorneys at non-profit organizations that provide direct legal service for victims of domestic violence.  For information and to apply, please contact WWBA President Judge Smith at lisamsmith@rocketmail.comAll requests are confidential.
