Ethics Update 2022: Escrow Revisited

This program is presented by a panel of experienced practitioners who work in the field of ethics and professional responsibility, including attorneys who work for the Character and Fitness Committee, the Grievance Committee and a Defense firm. Using a hypothetical, the Panel will provide an overview of the obligations of setting up a law practice, with an emphasis on escrow accounts and recordkeeping, competence and failure to supervise an employee. In addition, there will be an overview as to best practices in dealing with the Character and Fitness Committee and the Grievance Committee.

The Westchester Woman’s Bar Association is a chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Full and partial scholarships for this program, based on financial needs, are available. Full scholarship for the $10 CLE certificate charge (maximum of 10 attendees) for this program are available for attorneys at non-profit organizations that provide direct legal service for victims of domestic violence.
