Litigating Interstate Custody Cases, a Primer on the UCCJEA


This program will provide an overview of New York law as it relates to initial custody and modification of custody proceedings where interstate custody issues arise. The presenters will discuss the relevant case law and statutes, as well as address hypothetical cases and application of the law to the fact patterns.

*CLE: Pending approval by WBASNY in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for 1 credit hour (.5 in skills and .5 professional practice) as specified, acceptable for transitional credit for established and newly admitted attorneys. Full and partial scholarships for this program, based on financial need, are available. Full scholarships for the CLE certificate charge (maximum of 10 attendees) for this program are available for attorneys at non-profit organizations that provide direct legal service for victims of domestic violence.
