Meetings and Annual Events

General Membership Meetings

WWBA holds four General Membership Meetings annually: September, November, January and April. These meetings are open to members and their invited guests and include programs on diverse topics. Each meeting has an educational component with a panel composed of experts in their fields and extended networking opportunities. Our past programs have included “Torturing the Law: Treatment of Detainees and the War on Terror,” ‘Women and the Art of Negotiation” and “A View from the Federal Bench." Some programs are offered for Continuing Legal Education credits. To sponsor a General Membership Meeting, please contact the Programs Committee Co-Chairs.

Committee Meetings

The WWBA maintains more than 50 committees which meet periodically to do the work of running the organization or focusing on a specific legal topic. Some programs are offered for Continuing Legal Education ("CLE") credits and some programs provide networking opportunities. Attendance is open to members and their invited guests. Committee events are publicized to the entire membership in the Newsletter, via email and on the website Calendar. Visit the Committees page for a list of WWBA Committees, descriptions and chairpersons.

Annual Events

Holiday Party

A collegial networking opportunity for more than 20 years, attended by more than 200 WWBA members and invited guests, including judiciary. A Holiday Boutique is featured with vendors selling merchandise, services and crafts to provide an opportunity for pre-holiday shopping. Attendees are treated to hors d’oeuvres, desserts and wine. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift appropriate for a teenager and/or food items which the WWBA donates to one or more local charitable organizations.

Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner is the Annual Meeting of the WWBA. Officers and Directors are installed and honored. Awards, such as the WWBA Family Friendly Employer Award and the WWBA Foundation's Justice Sondra Miller Scholarship, are presented. Attendance is usually in excess of 250 attorneys, judges and supporters of the award recipients.

Golf and Tennis Outing

The Linda Wiley Memorial Golf and Tennis Outing includes golf, as well as golf and tennis clinics. Golf consists of a nine hole best ball of four format. Prizes are awarded for low gross and Calloway method low net scoring teams, and on course skills.  The three hour tennis clinic features a 6/1 student/pro ratio, with specific concentrations in cardio fitness, lesson and a round robin tournament. All the events begin with brunch and end with a sumptuous cocktail hour and dinner.
